Next Photo Challenge: New Year – New You

Last Year, my goal was to be braver. I have lived up to that goal.

For this next assignment, you will set two goals for yourself and photograph what those two goals look like. In the example above, my goal for last year was to be brave. This photo, with my daughter hiding behind a telephone pole, shows what its like to NOT be brave, to hide behind things, and this year, I have come out more with my own personality and feelings, even if those feelings are complicated or difficult.

Step 1: Write down 3-5 goals you’d like to see yourself do in the new year. This could include:

  • Better attendance
  • Do Better in School.
  • Eat Heathfully.
  • Get More Sleep.
  • Get More Exercise.
  • Meditate.
  • Learn to Play a Musical Instrument.

Step 2: Choose two goals to sketch out using the graphic tablets or draw it by hand.

Step 3: Use this sketch to plan out lighting, camera angles, etc.

Step 4: Make the two photos.

Step 5: Add text that says what the goals are and that the font and color matches the mood of the photograph.

Two photos of two different goals on 12/20

What I’ll be grading you on:

  • In focus images.
  • How well the goal was illustrated.
  • Font and text matches the mood of the photographs.
